AEG magnetophon

Made in West Germany, 1950-51.

Tape speed: 38,1-19,05 cm/s
This is a "double half-track" mono machine, with one engine, and an interesting, special mechanical solution.
Drive-out monitoring: stroboscope
It has a very nice, square sound. This is a simple machine, easy to use, stabile-operated, portable studio-recorder with vacuum-tube.
Certainly it is a real rarity.

The AEG company built the first open-reel tape recorder in the world, in 1934. So, when we listen this AEG machine, we can feel at the beginning of the "open-reel" technology.
